The UVA Indoor Golf Hitting Facility accommodates all facilities necessary to provide a home for the men’s and women’s varsity golf programs. The building is sited at the northeast corner of the existing Birdwood driving range, just south of the Birdwood mansion grounds.
The building is comprised of 10,200 square feet of space divided onto two levels. Taking advantage of the existing topography, both levels are accessible from grade. The building is equipped with a hydraulic elevator. The lower level accommodates 6 indoor hitting bays, 2 video analysis bays, club repair room, storage, mechanical rooms, toilet, and janitor’s closet. The upper floor accommodates the main point of entry and lobby, coach’s and assistant coach’s offices, conference room (“the living room”), locker rooms, and golf club storage, lounge, and meeting room. The upper level will also accommodate the strength and training studio, and the putting studio.
